** Reflections on a paper discussing Political Language**
They take a reason
and twist it
like a metal hanger, angling it
until it fits into minds;
the least resistant, you know.
You open your mind
to them, believing,
blindly trusting like a child;
not questioning
the doubt in your head.
after all, we want what’s best, right?
repeat after them,
“yes, we want what’s best.”
And they make ugly become
the new beautiful,
And they turn away disgusted
from those who reason
lest we notice
the truth.
