Soulful Eyes

Those who understand...Not much
Beginning to get back to where I was
....the cure of one gentle touch.

Once... The tragedy of a heartless crook
But now beginning to find the pieces....
You see, you've given a different outlook.

Not apparent...but your presence has made me grow
And you've given me something I can't explain
... in a way only you know.

We've said happiness, It's for for those who create it
Both striving to have it .... two minds
.... On the same quest, must admit.

The sun rises, the sun sets...the days close to their end
I can only smile to myself...
Knowing I'll always have you, lover or friend.

My heart & soul are happy; I'm glad that you're here
Every day is a little brighter..
Knowing you're there, an open ear...

We ponder, we think... hoping it works out
We envision glimpses of the future....
I promise I'll always be here for you, don't ever doubt...

Truth be told.... I see more than you think i see
You are more than you realize
Nothing has ever been more clear to me...

What was unforeseen... But now realized
Fate throws unlikely things together
It's all just there... in your soulful eyes.

The End Justifies the Means

They say, all's well that ends well,
But is it, we can never really know,
For just a journey can never quite tell,
What's left behind, along the path we go,
The carnage that our actions strew and throw,
All that transpires well behind the scenes,
Could forever change the present's free flow,
The end can never justify the means.

This challenge is like a rogue rebel,
Wanting all the glory in life's game show,
We're all held in this empty enchanted spell,
What a curtain we manage to sew!
Hiding all sadness we cause and the woe,
Grabbing glory, while we also demean,
All events leading us to become so,
The end rarely ever justifies the means.

The consequences , we can never tell,
Life is this fragile, frail snow château,
And in its frail crumbling arms we dwell
And weaken as its cutting, cruel winds blow
And get crushed by what fate finds to bestow,
The end does matter but so does all in between,
All of us distracted by life's glitter and glow,
The end just doesn't justify the means.

We're all mere characters that we just outgrow,
Aftermath haunts even great kings and queens,
We're all moving through it as we see fit though,
Does the end justify the means?

I See in You

There & then, I would have picked you,
But even now, i love to see this glow in you.
Beautiful soul you are, I am so grateful.
Having you is a pleasure, so peaceful.

You have a caring heart, not of act.
In you I see no hypocrytical act.
Always do I wish to see you love,
Knowing how, pleasing, that you love.

In you, will you exhibit love forever.
Minds like yours should live forever.
A Sacred exhibition of imagination,
No man's mind matches this imagination.

Like the weather you will be forever.
No mind you come across will suffer.
Tenderness is always found in you.
Enigmatic, enchanting are You.

Political Language

WARS, RIOTS, CHAOS, DEMONSTRATIONS, EXPROPRIATING, LOOTING, CORRUPTION, CAMPAIGN, ELECTIONS, U.N. CONFERENCES and TERMS, POLITICIAN'S  SPEECHES, POLITICAL STATEMENTS, NEWS, NEWS REPORTS, POLITICAL COMMUNIQUES ....

With elections roaring, amidst worldwide ongoings, political language has its own style of accuracy, diplomacy and proficiency; nevertheless, it is described as the language of manipulation. Political statements and translation affect us in a number of different ways. They make us laugh and cry; they make us angry and they make us smile.

I returned and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. (Ecclesiastes)
In our time, political language is truly abundant and deceptive.
Think of the American hand in Iraq, the Bosnia/Herzegovina purge, the nuclear arms race, The current Israel/Iran face-off. All can be justified, but only by reasoning which are too grotesque for most people to comprehend, and which show hypocrisy with the supposed goals of the political parties. Political language has to consist largely of euphemism, evasive questioning, and sheer cloudy vagueness. What is known as pacification? Afghan, Palestinian villages bombarded from the air, the inhabitants driven out, the livelihood demolished.
Many are robbed of their property and sent off with no more than they can carry. This is known as transfer of population or rectification of frontiers. Guantanamo Bay, "Terrorist" holdings, known as elimination of unreliable elements. Such political language is needed if one wants to name things without getting their names dirty.

The Deserted Island

The Deserted Island.

It's funny how everyone thinks "Deserted Island" for the ideal life. This fantasy of escape from influence of external control to spur self-decision.

We want to be away from the everyday.
We want to out of the rat-race.
We want out of the confusion.
We don't want influence.
We don't want societal control.
We don't want pressure.

Some call it "Me" time, some call it reflection, some are monks. Though we might not admit it, us humans need isolation to an extent. No matter how easy & convenient things are getting, the modern world is designed to be out of kilter.
Despite our frantic love for technology, the glitter and glare of Tv's, computers, iPads/Pods, etc, we still yearn to leave them behind and dream of that island.

It seems our societies, be it USA, KSA, Europe, squeezes our minds into a dark corner where imagination evaporates and inspiration dries up. We keep striving to be better, try harder, success is what they say it is, but yet the vision of this island  lingers in many minds.

Is it that the nature of an island humbles us? Puts us back into context? It does make the big picture easier to see. A few hours on a deserted island, just being ourself, rather than a busy, work-hard, succeed-at-all-costs person that we may be, is undeniably good for the soul.

Finishing a book or allowing the waves to lap at your toes for an hour would never be described as “achievements”, but whose compelling you to do this or that on deserted island?
Freedom is instinctive, and never what we live. We find liberation in our basic nature, of survival, of doing simple, natural things. Who doesn't like a lovely campfire or forest trek ?
