A Few Good Men

His agenda is Respect

His belief is Honesty

He’s got tender loving care up his sleeve

His words are well seasoned and well defined

Something about his determination

Something about his intense ambition

"Your honor is my honor" , he says.

He appreciates the complexity of a woman’s mind

He comforts and secures with just one word

He wants to know the pain behind my eyes

Leaving me wanting more of his selflessness

More of his deep voice reflections

More of his intellectual connections

"Your presence is my comfort", he says.

He opens doors , He pulls out chairs

He makes me feel safe because he is so secure

Insisting I call to let him know I made it home safe

He brings so much love, concern, friendship

He’s the kind who drapes his coat over your cold shoulders

Quick to correct you when you turn pebbles into boulders

" I'll be there in 10 minutes", he says.

He emanates power, yet tenderness beholds

He learns, teaches, defends and protects

He wants me to do my best and settle for no less

He's so far away, yet so close

Investigate his mind and you might find

A personality of rather divine design

"Let me teach you", he says.

And it might seem that men like these no longer exist

I stand as a witness I’ve encountered a few

I cherish them for all the gentlemanly things they do

I treasure them for the good men they are

The kind of men that a woman can trust 

Heart, Mind, and Soul.

The silence in the Night deafens me,

The aroma of candles surrounding like a sea.

I wonder how I’ve survived all these years,

In this big world alone with my fears.

In a hurry, in a rush, day after day,

I’ve walked on believing I’d be okay.

I’ve never noticed how empty I've been,

Until it all amasses, my patience worn thin.

Like a shadow of what has been, following me,

Perhaps I never truly want to be free.

I want to continue on loving ,

Remembering love is a piece of heaven.

Smiles that carried me through the days,

Sleeping away the mornings, the usual lazy ways.

The warmth of the sea breeze late at night,

And how being with one made things seem alright.  

Sometimes i wish the past years were a dream,

But then I'd never have seen your eyes twinkle with that gleam.

I keep thinking that everything will be okay,

And I work the hours through, until my worries feel so far away.

Things are not as joyful as they used to be,

This love no longer sets me soaring free.

This neglect just seems to ensettle rage,

The book I once wrote no longer has any page.

The days are floating by as fluid as water,

I want to believe it will all get better.

You flow by like an untamed stream,

sometimes I just want to scream.

Will you realize in time before things die,

Or will you be too late, realizing after the last goodbye.

Maybe we should stop this game of baiting.

There are much more important things waiting,

Lets Just be free, free to achieve those dreams,

Let's live, let's achieve by all means.

Where are the times we once had where we smiled,

And laughed uninhibited and wild.

Consilio et Animis

They focus on the trivial 

We prioritize the crucial

They think only for themselves

We think for the greater good

They believe in the here & now

We carry the past and the impending future

The more we tell them

The less they know

Apparent is the truth

Yet it doesn't set them free

One should always tell the truth

But all truths need not be told

On the first line

We Accomplish what they cannot

We carry out our mission

Go where others cannot go

Revelations, intentions, capabilities

Adversaries, decisions & actions

They fear and idealize,

We protect, decide and act

They dwell on just being & enjoying

We take pride in our insight to advance

They see on the surface and rely on the tangible

We rely on instinct, intellect, and intense foresight

One mind, one body, one soul

One intellect, one vision, one goal 

Innocence

Let them smile merrily

Let them laugh heartily

Let them giggle in mischief

Let them cackle as they run

For laughter, merriment and fun mischief

is never forever and never so fun

as it is when your a child

so don't forget to...
